A Tigers day
to remember.

A ballgame gives everyone something to watch. Going together gives us something to share.

On Sunday, July 26, Save Our Youth’s 2026 Detroit Tigers outing brought young people, families, and community members together for a day at the ballpark. With Tigers colors in the stands and plenty of familiar faces nearby, it was a chance to enjoy baseball in good company.

The day, in the little moments

The photos tell much of the story: rows of our group sitting together, smiles between innings, matching trip shirts, and a stop for a picture in an oversized orange chair. There are wide views of the field and close-up moments with the people who made the outing special.

Those moments are worth keeping. A shared outing gives young people and adults time to connect outside their usual routines—and gives families a summer experience to look back on together.

Thank you for being part of it

We’re grateful to our trip partners, Kathy Schmaltz and Big Brothers Big Sisters, and to everyone who joined us, helped with the day, or supported the opportunity to go. Bringing a group together takes care and coordination, and we appreciate the people behind that effort.

At Save Our Youth, experiences like this are part of our commitment to creating opportunities for young people to take part, build connections, and enjoy their community. Thank you for making this year’s Tigers outing part of that story.
